The Meaning of The Rising Sol

There is something about the sun rising after a dark night that feels like a promise.

Not that the night never happened.
Not that the darkness wasn’t real.
But that darkness is not the end of the story.

The Rising Sol was born from that idea.

Sol is the Latin word for sun—the light that rises again and again, no matter how long the night has been.

And when I hear Sol, I also hear soul.

The part of us that exists beneath the roles we play, the defenses we build, the stories we’ve been told about who we’re supposed to be. The part of us that can become buried beneath survival, trauma, expectations, relationships, and the many ways we’ve learned to leave ourselves behind.

Healing, to me, isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about finding our way back to ourselves.

Sometimes that means sitting with the darkness instead of rushing toward the light. Sometimes it means learning to feel what we’ve spent years avoiding. Sometimes it means grieving who we had to become in order to survive—and discovering who we are underneath it.

And eventually, something begins to rise.

Not because the darkness disappeared, but because we learned that we could move through it.

The sun rises every morning.

So do we.

The Rising Sol is a reminder that there is always a part of you that knows the way back to the light.

You are not broken because you’ve been through the dark.

You are human.

And there is still more of you waiting to rise.
